PEGCO, Inc. is  Certified by American Safety & Health Institute,

a nationally recognized leader in providing safety & health related courses and

American Heart Association for CPR  and the State of Florida,

to provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for the following subjects:

 

  • CPR and AED for the Community and Workplace -- The goal of the CPR and AED for the community and workplace is to provide individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic life support in an emergency. Additionally, CPR and AED for the community and workplace™ has been found acceptable for meeting requirements established by state child care licensing, a wide variety of professional state and federal agencies, associations, councils, academies, and boards. The curriculum is consistent with widely accepted guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The goal of the CPR & AED for the community and workplace is to provide individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic life support in an emergency.     Program Standards

    Intended Audience: Community and workplace
    Student Text: ASHI CPR and AED for the community and workplace
    Initial Instruction Time (Average): 4 hours
    Renewal Time (Average): 2-4 hours
    Student to Instructor Ratio (Lecture/Discussion Maximum): 10:1
    Student to Manikin Ratio (Skill Session Maximum): 3:1
    Testing Process: Can reasonably perform skills/scenarios without assistance, >80% /on the 25 question test.

    Certification Period: Up to 2 years
    Students master necessary skills for the administration of CPR. They learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in the case of an airway obstruction or choking. The American Safety & Health Institute CPR Programs are based upon the most recent guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac care.

    CPR Video 30 minutes
    Covers adult, child and infant CPR and choking techniques.
    Provides information and care for adult and pediatric emergencies.
    (Available in Spanish).
    Nationally Recognized Student Completion Cards
    Gives immediate feedback to students and confirms learning objectives are met.

     
  • CPR Pro for the Healthcare Provider -- The goal of the CPR PRO is to provide individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic life
    support in an emergency. The CPR PRO™ curriculum has been approved for training of Emergency Medical Services personnel in most states, is accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) and accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

    Addtionally, CPR PRO™ has been found acceptable for meeting requirements established by a wide variety of professional associations, councils, academies, and boards. The curriculum is consistent with widely accepted guidelines for professional level cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

    Student to Manikin Ratio : 1:1
    Testing Process: Can reasonably perform skills/scenarios without assistance, >80% /on the 25 question test.
    Certification Period: is for 2 years
     
  • Automated External Defibrillation (AED)- Having personnel on-site that are expertly trained in the use of Automated External Defibrillation (AED) provides the victim with
    rapid defibrillation access before EMS arrival, greatly increasing the chance of survival. Training includes recognition of unresponsive victims, review of equipment operation and maintenance, discussion of treatment and valuable hands-on practice designed to increase skills. Hands on training on use of the AED.

 

  • Basic First Aid-  Properly applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time and quite possibly mean the difference between temporary disability or lifelong disability for the victim. Program participants learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information about how to deal with emergencies like
    bleeding, shock, burns, strains, fractures, allergic reaction, diabetic and seizures is shared. Basic First Aid is the most popular program offered by ASHI. This nationally accepted program satisfies the requirements of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). This program can be used for community and workplace program. Basic First Aid Video Provides dramatic scenarios and step-by-step instructions. .

    Pocket First Aid/CPR/AED Guides Outstanding resource for students. Great for pocket, first aid kit, and/or glove compartment.
